چکیده

We show that the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (HFB) method is able to describe experimental values of alpha decay widths by including a residual nucleon-nucleon Surface Gaussian Interaction (SGI) within standard procedure used calculate nuclear mean field. call this Cluster HFB (CHFB) approach. In way we correct deficient asymptotic behaviour corresponding single-particle (sp) wave functions generated The corrected field becomes sum between Woods-Saxon-like and cluster component centered at same radius as SGI. Thus, give confirmation plus potential structure, which was assumed in our previous work on alpha-decay widths. Systematic calculations evidence linear correlation SGI strength fragmentation potential, allowing for reliable predictions concerning half lives superheavy emitters.

Field emission from nano-cluster carbon films

Field emission has been reported to occur at much lower fields in carbon based thin film systems than from any other material systems. The emission has been shown to depend on the various material parameters, but whichever carbon based system is used, it is found that emission occurs at localised sites rather than uniformly over the entire surface. Carbon films with mixed sp3 sp2 bonding, like ...

Beyond mean - field description of the low - lying spectrum of

Starting from constrained Skyrme-mean-field calculations, the low-energy excita-tion spectrum of 16 O is calculated by configuration mixing of particle-number and angular-momentum projected mean-field states in the framework of the Generator Coordinate Method. Without any adjustable parameters, this approach gives a very good description of those states and their transition moments that can be ...

Relativistic mean-field description of the dynamics of giant resonances

The relativistic mean-field theory provides a framework in which the nuclear many-body problem is described as a self-consistent system of nucleons and mesons. In the mean-field approximation, the self-consistent time evolution of the nuclear system describes the dynamics of collective motion: nuclear compressibility from monopole resonances, regular and chaotic dynamics of isoscalar and isovec...

Relativistic mean-field description of nuclei at the drip-lines

We present a review of recent applications of the relativistic mean-field theory to the structure of nuclei close to the drip-lines. For systems with extreme isospin values, the relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov model provides a unified and self-consistent description of mean-field and pairing correlations. The model has been applied in studies of structure phenomena that include: formation of ne...
